Freebird runs on MS Windows. There are 3 steps to getting started.

Step 1: Download and install: For a free 30 day trial, download from here and run the installer.

Step 2: Once installed you will need to add a birdlist. You can build your own if you like (it is a csv file), but in New Zealand most people use this birdlist here. Attaching the birdlist to the freebird that you have installed is quite simple, and the instructions for that step are here.

Step 3: Get started. The user manual is here, and if you like you can try it all out with a sample 8kSps file and a 32kSps. (kSps is the recording data rate, kiloSamples per second).
